2 good condition, large, pale brown hardcovers with no dust jackets kept within their original slip-case.  The slip case has some residue, and some fraying on the edges.  The internal bindings of both books have some tears and are slightly loose.  The covers have no visible wear.  Some pages have wrinkling or yellowing, but the text and illustrations throughout are clear and legible.  The back flyleaf of vol. 1 has a tear from when it was accidentally stuck to the back inside cover.  The front flyleaves have some writing in pencil and eraser marks.
