Almost a Conformist by Lyle M. Ward (His Memories)

As I begin to write my story I am within two months of my seventy-sixth birthday. I recoil from calling it a “history,” instead I will call it a story consisting of episodes and vignettes. Because it affords the license of perhaps going beyond strict cold facts by adding color to them by how they made me think and feel.
