1807 & 1810 Deed & Indenture Contract — Very Large Size — State of New York “Recorded in book of Deeds” on the 18th of September, 1807 — About 2′ Wide & 2.5′ Tall — Signed by Joseph Ellicott & Wilhelm Willink, and Others….

We really don’t know much about this 1897 deed from New York, but we are providing many photographs for you to look at. For us much of the writing and signatures are difficult to read.

One section says that something was recorded in the Clerk’s Office of Niagara County on March 10, 1910. Both sides have inked information.

One signature on the document is Wilhelm Willink. He was a Dutch businessman who was “a wealthy Amsterdam merchant, and one of the investors in the Holland Land Company.” (See Wikipedia).

The document is also signed by Joseph Ellicott, a famous “American surveyor, city planner, land office agent, lawyer and politician of the Quaker faith.” (See Wikipedia). He was famous for laying out the city of Buffalo, New York. We just aren’t sure about the other signatures.

This seems to be a very important historical document for the Niagara Falls area of New York State.
