A Monograph of the Birds of Prey — 2 Huge Volumes — Leather —

$750.00

  • A Monograph of the Birds of Prey (Order Accipitres)

  • By H. Kirke Swann, F.Z.S., M.B.O.U. Corresponding Fellow of the American Ornitholigist’s Union.
  • Edited by Alexander Wetmore, F.A.O.U., C.M.Z.S.
  • Illustrated by Plates reproduced in colour from drawings by H. Gronvold also by Coloured Plates of Eggs, and Plates in Photogravure.
  • Vols 1 and 2.
  • Wheldon & Wesley, LTD, London, 1930.
  • Volume One has 487 pages. There is some wear to the bottom edges of both boards, and you can see clearly from our photographs that there is staining on the leather spines and a coupl of stains on the front cover of volume 2.
  • The text is clean throughout and the bindings seem to be holding together nicely.
  • 3/4 Leather binding; raised bands on the spines.
  • Volume Two has 538 pages.
  • These volumes were “withdrawn” from a library, and they have the stamping that shows it; however the library stampings are not huge and ugly; fainted stamping along page edges is not bad at all.
  • These are very heavy books and will most certainly cost us more to insure and mail than our website charges. NO FOREIGN ORDER ON THIS SET PLEASE.
  • You may click on the photographs below to enlarge them:

These two books almost weigh 20 pounds together! They are almost 13 inches tall.
