Fair condition, thick hardcover with a black spine and no dust jacket.  The spine has a long tear along one edge, and has some pieces torn off.  The cover has scuffing, fading, some tears, fraying, a dent on one edge, and slightly crushed corners.  The front inside cover has a large ex-library sticker.  The front flyleaf has ink stains.  The inside covers and flyleaves have stains along the edges.  The pages around the title page have ink stains, because of a large patch of ink that had been scribbled onto the page.  The second flyleaf has writing in pencil, eraser marks, and a stamp.  Text and illustrations throughout are clean, clear, and legible.
