Fair condition, thick hardcover with a black spine and no dust jacket.  The cover has heavy scuffing, some fading, scratches, an old price sticker, and small tears and fraying at the corners and edges.  The internal binding is torn.  The inside covers and flyleaves have stains along the edges and corners.  The front inside cover has a sticker.  The front flyleaf has crayon marks, and writing in pencil.  Text and illustrations throughout are clean, clear, and legible.
