Very nice hardcover book; this was a book that William E. McLellin had planned on publishing but never did. It was finally published in 2012 after being discovered and featured on the News.
McLellin was one of the Original Twelve Apostles of The Mormon Church. He praised the Book of Mormon often throughout the book; he praised Joseph Smith one time in the book, and many times speaks poorly of him.
McLellin left the Church, but his book and his doctrines featured in the book are certainly relevant history. McLellin wrote this book from 1871 to 1872. He was a teacher and he said that out of all the students he taught, Joseph Smith (who attended his science class one summer) had “what a mind” and that he soaked up everything he was taught.
He also questioned the three witnesses to the Book of Mormon, and wrote in the book that he believed them! (even though he no longer was a member of the Church and he believed Joseph Smith was a fallen prophet.) This book is a fascinating read!
The book itself tends to develop a loose page or two, as the pages and text block start to separate from the binding, so don’t be surprised if there is a loose page or two (or more). The book retailed at $59.95, but due to the tendency for pages to come out, we are offering it at quite a substantial discount!
The spine and pages can be easily glued and repaired.
