1849 ~ Book of Mormon ~ Liverpool, England ~ Leather ~ Second European Edition

Book of Mormon. 2nd European (Liverpool) edition; 1849. black leather; decorative boards; spine has been professionally repaired with new hinges and most of the original part of the spine laid over.

Original end sheets and front end sheet has ink inscription from a previous owner in Suffolk, England. This copy has the half-title page before the title page (most don’t).

Title page is nice; pages are clean throughout; some slight soiling on page edges as expected; top edge of pages has several pages with a small indentation or piece that looks like it was cut off (just a little bit) but it is darkened with age to show this was something that happened long ago; perhaps at the time of printing itself. It’s not a major flaw it just makes the corner edge of the pages slightly uneven (you’d have to see this to understand its not that bad.)

Nice early edition; pretty good condition considering its age!
