1889 — First Edition Maori Book of Mormon —- Ko Te Pukapuka a Moromona — Fantastic Condition

$20,000.00

Ko Te Pukapuka A Moromona: He Tuhituhinga I Tuhituhia E Te Ringa O Moromona.
Akakana: 1889, 748 Pages. Binding looks like some kind of black leather-like binding; with decorative binding, but we believe it is just a nice fancy cloth binding. Spine appears to be very professionally repaired. Clean text throughout; a very nice condition copy.
Extremely Rare Edition!
The LDS Church website states the following:Māori Church members Henare Potae, Piripi Te Maari, and John A. Jury assisted Ezra F. Richards and Sondra Sanders as they translated the Book of Mormon into Māori.”
They were supposedly assisted by Katie Paxman, wife of the Mission President at the time there in New Zealand.
This was the only Book of Mormon printed in 1889. In October of 2024 the Church announced that it had located the original handwritten pre-publication transcript of the First Edition Maori Book of Mormon. Click here for more information.
