James Godfrey, Mormon Patriarch [Collection of Books & Documents] 1877-

Collection of the following items related to a Mormon Patriarch, James Godfrey, and his wife and family. Collection includes the following:

1. Record Book A – James Godfrey [on the spine] Large size record book; thick boards; raised bands on the spine. Book is full of handwritten patriarchal blessings, the first starting in 1912. Before the first blessing, and they run from 1912 thru 1925, he hand wrote his own patriarchal blessing inside, that was actually given by John Smith, Joseph Smith’s Uncle. The book is about 2/3 full with empty unused pages in the back third.
2. James Godfrey’s Certificate of Ordination. Actual certificate signed by Hyrum Smith, the Presiding Patriarch at the time [1911].
3. Book titled Temple Record  on the front cover; “Temple Record of James and F.A. Godfrey” inside on the first page. Page after page of information on those they did temple work for.
4. Softbound book entitled The Life Story of James and Fannie Alice Jones Godfrey and Their Children. Large size softcover; black plastic velo strip spine. 1981. 80 pages. Very good condition.
5. Small Photograph of Fannie Jones Godfrey.
6. Large envelope with misc. copies of Patriarchal Blessings.

A unique collection. Certainly a one-of-a-kind!
