The Prince of Ur is a historical-fiction novel by Susa Young Gates (co-authored with her daughter Leah D. Widtsoe) that dramatizes the early life of Abram, the biblical figure who would later be called Abraham. Rooted in the ancient setting of the city of Ur, the story follows Abram as he returns home to find his people straying from the faith of his father and ancestors, embracing idol worship and worldly power. Faced with false gods, political intrigue, and the machinations of figures like Nimrod, Abram experiences danger and divine intervention that ultimately lead him to reject the corrupted culture around him.
