  • What This Book is About:
The Holy Ghost is the least understood member of the Godhead. We don’t know His name, origin, or destiny, nor why more hasn’t been revealed, although we know a little about His roles. This collection of essays explores the Holy Ghost’s identity, as well as His roles beyond the typical Sunday School answers. While such speculation is inappropriate in formal Church settings, author Richard D. Gardner argues that because it doesn’t contradict official doctrine (although it may, contradict commonly-held ideas), it can create interest in, and even motivation to live the gospel. These are plausible ideas, rather than facts. But whether or not they are true, they suggest questions for study and can promote learning, even if our original questions remain unanswered. This book contains three essays:
  1. Who is the Holy Ghost?
  2. The Holy Ghost’s Roles in the Godhead
  3. Scriptural Uses of the Word “Spiritual”
Other Books by This Author:
  1. The Heart of the Gospel: Explorations into the Workings of the Atonement – 2013
  2. God’s Organizing Power: Explorations into the Power and Blessings of the Priesthood – 2014
  3. Beneficiaries of the Restoration: Our Privileges, Responsibilities and Attitude Regarding Scripture, History, Truth and Zion – 2018
