1841 — Gospel Reflector — Benjamin B. Winchester, Pastor of the Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ …. in Philadelphia

$2,900.00

Good to fair only; but this is almost the entire run. This worn and rebound hardcover consists of issues #1 thru #11 except in #2 it is missing pages 29-32 and #11 ends on page 306 which is not quite the end of that issue. [There is supposed to be 316 pags total.]
Almost a complete run; a full volume is easily worth four thousand dollars; this is one of the earliest publications which tried to expound Mormon doctrines and ideas. The Introduction in the first issue states the purpose was to “set the principles of our Holy Religion before the public in a plain and precise manner.”
Some pages are cracked or chipped, or slightly water stained; some pages have ink markings or pencil markings; the last page has a few little holes in it. A small group of pages is also loose, but present.
There are a couple of previous owner ink inscriptions inside the front cover; one is dated 1884, the other inscription is newer.
The cover is a little rough but it is all original, not rebound or repaired like some copies out there. Overall this is an good to fair condition volume for its age, and it is a very rare early Mormon title!
