1845 ~ Times and Seasons ~ Volume Six ~ Nauvoo, Illinois — Leather Spine

Volume six of the six volume set; 3/4 leather; marbled boards; worn on edges and corners and spine, but binding in tact; full volume for the year; most pages are stained from moisture, but it would be a rare copy that didn’t have that since most probably crossed the plains from Nauvoo to Utah. This one apparently did, because the name inside suggests the owner wrote in it in Utah in 1850, and that he was born in Nauvoo in 1842 (making him only 8 years old). The name inscribed inside is S. R. BENNION, TAYLORSVILLE, SALT LAKE CO, DEC, 15TH 1850. If this is Samuel R. Bennion he was born in Nauvoo but ended up in Taylorsville with family. There is also another inscription inside the book by an Esther B. Stringfellow? om 1918. Binding is in tact; see our photograph. Rare early Nauvoo volume! Worth every penny!
