Fascinating one-of-a-kind hardcover; with page after page of names and amounts of taxes paid. One page on Brigham Young mentions “Brigham Young’s Road Tax” written in pencil. Covers the Salt Lake 1st Ward thru the 18th Ward. Marbled boards with brown leather spine; two stickers on the front cover. Most pages are full; some are not. It lists the person, then the person’s Ward, valuation of land, number of horses, mules, cattle, sheep, swine, vehicles, clocks and watches, merchandise, household furniture, lots, money loaned, other property, total amount of assessment, then dogs, and then remarks. Very unique. There would be no other exactly like it!
