1867 Holy Scriptures [Inspired Version by Joseph Smith] Translated and Corrected by the Spirit of Revelation by Joseph Smith Jr., The Seer. Published by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Joseph Smith, I. L. Rogers, E. Robinson, Publishing Committee; 1867.

Some exlib markings; nicely rebound in a thick brown leather; with raised bands on the spine. Important 1st edition of Joseph Smith’s New Translation of the Bible; complete text of both Old and New Testaments. Some notes on pages before title page; Pages 3/4 (one leaf) is missing but is provided in a loose facsimile copy. (the first 2 pages of preface).

First few pages have repairs to edges of paper; including the title page. Not a perfect copy, but nice; and scarce! The volume was published by the RLDS Church.

This volume was frowned upon by Brigham Young when it came out; but since then the Church has placed more confidence in the accuracy of the text and it is now used extensively by the Church.
