Fair condition hardcover with a dust jacket with a pale brownish spine, and a mylar cover.  The dust jacket has tears, pieces torn off, heavy scuffing, stains, wrinkling, and creases.  Some pages have stains or pencil marks on the edges.  The front flyleaf has a signature and inscription written by the LDS author Samuel W. Taylor in pen!  The front flyleaf also has writing in pencil and eraser marks.  Some pages have tiny stains on the edges.  Text throughout is clear and legible.
