Good condition hardcover with a fair condition, maroon dust jacket.  The dust jacket has some tears, scuffing, scratches, and creasing.  The front flyleaf has writing in pencil.  A page in the front has a signature written by one of the editors (Donald Q. Cannon) in pen!  The title page also has unrelated writing in pen.  Text throughout is clean, clear, and legible.

The Far West Record is a compilation of the minutes of various meetings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1830 to 1844. It is historically important for many reasons: it provides information about the background of several revelations of Joseph Smith, the precise dating of revelations previously unidentified, important insights into the nature of revelation, and the early development of Church doctrine and policy. The Far West Record is also significant in understanding the law of consecration, the United Firm, the organization of stakes, mission calls, priesthood assignments and ordinations, and many other aspects of the early Church.

The editors of this reproduction of the Far West Record have taken great pains to retain the spelling, punctuation, and paragraphing of the original document.
