Dedication Program to the Gen. Thomas L. Kane Memorial Chapel / Signed by George W. Romney

$50.00

Gen. Thomas L. Kane Memorial Chapel is a Gothic Revival chapel built between 1876 and 1878 in Kane, Pennsylvania, as a memorial to Civil War General Thomas L. Kane. Designed by architect Henry J. Taylor, the chapel features pink sandstone walls, stained glass rose windows, and a cruciform layout inspired by an English church Kane admired in Kent. Kane requested to be buried just outside the chapel entrance, and the site later became closely associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of his support for Mormon pioneers. Today, the chapel is preserved by the Kane Historic Preservation Society and serves as a historic landmark and community event venue.

We are offering for sale an original program from the chapel’s dedication ceremony, signed on the back by special guest George W. Romney, adding a unique historical connection to this important landmark. This is just a small 4-page item. The menu for the food itself is interesting (on page 3).
