1871 Matthewnim Taaiskt. Matthew, Translated in the Nez Perces Language. American Bible Society: New York, 1871. 130p. Black leather binding with gilt title on cover; very clean pages inside text. Some old interesting ink inscriptions inside front of book about the Lapwei Mission and Spalding; also an old newspaper clipping about the scarcity of these books in the Nez Perce Language. Unfortunately this volume is cracked all the way down the spine, but could be repaired. A Very rare book indeed, a Nez Perce Language edition of Matthew from the Holy Bible. Also inscribed inside the front cover is “J. H. Trumbull, Dec. 26, 1871.” Fascinating book, and very very scarce!
