This 1995 recreation of this rare old bible, is uniquely bound in brown leather with 4 raised bands, or hubs, on the spine.

The first half of the book is the beautifully colored recreated pages from the old picture bible, or moralized bible. The second half of the book is in English and explains the original pictured bible.
Most of the illustrations have a gilded background.
  • The Bible moralisée, or moralized bibles, are a small group of illustrated bibles that were made in thirteenth-century France and Spain. These books are among the most expensive medieval manuscripts ever made because they contain an unusually large number of illustrations.
There are cheaper copies out there but this may be the only one with an antique-looking binding, to give it a more authentic old appearance.
