2 fair condition, dark blue hardcovers with no dust jackets.  The covers have heavy scuffing, some fading, stains, and tiny tears and fraying at the corners.  There are library marks throughout the book, including stamps made of tiny hole punches, ink stamps, a sticker on the back inside cover, and a catalog card pouch on the back flyleaf.  The edges of the pages have stains.  Some pages have stains, but these do not interfere with any of the text or illustrations.  The internal binding of Vol. 1 is partially torn and slightly loose.  The front flyleaves have some writing in pencil and eraser marks.  The title pages have writing in pen and pencil.
