Fair condition hardcover with a maroon spine and no dust jacket.  The cover has stains (including a very large dark one on the back), heavy scuffing, and some tears and fraying at the corners and edges, with a piece partially torn off the top edge of the spine.  Some pages have writing in pencil and eraser marks.  The page immediately after the title page has the numbering for the book written in pen.  Some pages have underlining in pencil, or some scuff marks or faint stains
